Some days may feel like they drag on, but the years move impossibly fast. And I know because I’m a mom too.
One minute you’re watching your baby wobble through their first steps across the living room floor. The next you realize their chubby cheeks have vanished and their adorable little accent is fading away.

My calling is to help you hold onto those feelings.
Hi! I’m Laurie, a family photographer based in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
I’m drawn to all things beautiful and emotional. I love how family photography sits at the intersection of art and documentation.
My goal isn’t only to create gorgeous images for your family to enjoy.
It’s to create photographs that help you hold onto this season of life long after it has passed. To create visual reminders of the sounds, the energy, and the feeling of each chapter of parenthood.
How is My Approach Different?
Most parents know to take more photos during this season of life. But the truth is, what we really want isn’t just pictures.
We want to remember how it feels.
The moments of raucous laughter.
The endless movement.
Tiny hands reaching out in trust for a steady figure.
Over time I’ve learned that the photos families treasure most are rarely the perfectly posed ones.
The photos that endure are the ones where everyone’s eyes are alight with the sense of belonging.
They’re the ones that capture connection in the moment, with feeling.
That burst of laughter when dad says something silly.
The way your child grabs your cheeks and whispers, “I love you, mommy.”
The quiet moments in between the loud ones.
That’s why I photograph families a little differently. Instead of asking everyone to hold still and smile, I guide families through gentle prompts and movement so real moments have space to unfold.
Because how you feel about a photo is heavily influenced by how you felt while taking the photos. And years from now, those are the moments that matter most.
